9-Axis Cantilever Robot

9-Axis Inverted Cantilever Welding Robot

An inverted six-axis arm on three linear axes welds bridge plate units, three-dimensional frames, box-type components and extra-long seams.

Import a model, or scan a part without drawings to build its model before welding. Send your parts for a free evaluation and a factory-direct quotation.

Why Choose a 9-Axis Station?

Access to three-dimensional parts

Rail, cross-slide and vertical movement carry the inverted arm around frames and box-type structures.

Scan parts without drawings

Robot vision and large-field line-scan stereo vision capture the part for reverse modelling before welding.

Travel along long seams

The standard 9 m rail carries the station along the workpiece, with 2.5 m cross-slide and 2.5 m vertical travel.

What the 9-Axis Robot Welds

  • Three-dimensional steel frames and box-type components
  • Bridge plate units and extra-long component seams
  • Part plates and other components without drawings or models

Parts can be up to 3,500 mm wide and 2,000 mm high. Equipment frames are one example of the three-dimensional work suited to this layout.

What Comes With the Station

  • Inverted six-axis welding arm with a reach of 2,000 mm.
  • Cantilever with a 9 m rail, 2.5 m cross-slide travel and 2.5 m vertical travel.
  • Our own welding software for model import and reverse modelling from a scan.
  • Robot vision and large-field line-scan stereo vision for scanning parts.
  • Water-cooled welding torch and torch cleaning station.
  • Water-cooled pulsed welding power source for MIG / MAG gas-shielded welding.

9-Axis Welding Robot Questions

What does 9-axis mean?

The robot arm has six axes. The rail, cross slide and vertical lift add three linear axes: 9 m rail length, 2.5 m cross travel and 2.5 m vertical travel in the standard configuration.

Can the 9-axis robot weld without drawings?

Yes. Large-field line-scan stereo vision captures the part, and our software builds a model from the scan before welding. You can also import an existing model.

What is the maximum part size?

Parts can be up to 3,500 mm wide and 2,000 mm high. Equipment frames are one example of the three-dimensional work suited to this layout.

Should I choose 9 axes or 8 axes?

Choose the 8-axis cantilever for wide, flat plates and bridge units worked from above. The 9-axis layout adds cross-slide and vertical travel for three-dimensional frames and box-type parts.

How is the 9-axis station quoted?

Send drawings, a model or photos of your parts. Our engineers evaluate the parts free of charge and recommend a station with a factory-direct quotation.
